Throughout the month of June have been shining the spotlight on the people in-store that make the experience of shopping at our stores amazing! You can meet some of the amazing people that make Marlborough Mall the community destination that it is below.

Meet Amanda:

Please state your name, title, and company:

My name is Amanda and I am the Store Manager of Mandeez Xclusif as well as our sister store, MDX Footwear.

Briefly describe your company/store/what you sell:

My stores specialize in exclusive and hand-picked, one-of-a-kind clothing, footwear, and accessories for both men and ladies.

What inspired you to open your business?

Being a fashion staple in Marlborough Mall for almost 20 years, our business model was largely inspired by the diversity of the surrounding community. Our goal is to source the latest trends from all over the world and to supply the most unique selection possible in order to provide an all-inclusive shopping experience for every age group, race, gender, and walk of life.

What have you missed most over the past year navigating the unique challenges of the pandemic?

I think one of the hardest parts of the pandemic has been cancelling all of our social functions, even milestone events such as weddings, graduations, birthdays. I’ve definitely missed styling clients for special events and seeing the joy on their faces as the perfect outfit for their occasion finally comes together.

What unique role do you think the Marlborough Mall plays in this community?

Shopping local is so important, but I think what makes Marlborough Mall really unique is that it caters to a diverse community. There is something for everyone to enjoy, a truly one-of-a-kind shopping experience with stores that aren’t in any other malls, as well as so many unique events and promotions that you don’t see happening anywhere else.

What do you want to say to the community?

I want to say a big thank you to the entire community, to all of our regular customers from all over the city and province, and to everyone who has supported us through the years, especially in this last year. We wouldn’t be here without you!

What does “There’s Life in Store” mean to you?

To me, “There’s Life in Store” is all about giving back to the community. Shopping local helps the whole community thrive by creating more jobs, a more positive environment, more personalized service, and it brings the community to life!

Meet George:

Please state your name and job title:

George Wambo - Security Supervisor, Marlborough mall

What have you missed most about the centre over the past year?

The crowd and high tempo environment definitely. Seniors congregating for coffee and families sitting for lunch and dinner. The sense of community.

It's a combustible mix of positive emotions. From helping seniors and patrons navigate the property, to assisting store owners with security queries. Above all, it’s the feeling of assisting a huge community.
